Roasted Coffee Beans in Chocolate

It all started when I was reminiscing my time in Chennai. There was this one time when we had gone to Amethyst Cafe in Chennai, where with coffee they serve these amazing little chocolates that look like Hershey’s Kisses. They are tiny and have a single bean of roasted coffee in them and Boy! are they delicious! All day Wednesday I was craving these little chocolates.

So, there was no way I could go to Chennai this week, and have no clue where you can buy then in Bangalore. Making them at home seemed like the only way out. I knew I had chocolate at home, all I needed were the coffee beans and a mould to put them into. I wanted these really tiny moulds that would hold just enough chocolate and a single coffee bean. I wasn’t even sure if these woulds were available. I decided to work with the one I got.

The coffee beans, I have used roasted Arabica beans for this recipe, they are available online. You could either but the roasted ones or buy the beans and roast it yourself. There are enough videos online that will show you how.

This particular chocolate recipe is one of my favourite. It not only combines two amazing flavours but also get done quickly and is ready to be consumed in an hour. oh! Did I mention all you need are two ingredients? 🙂

For this recipe You can buy a 200 or 100 grams pack and store it in an air tight container. This would not be a problem as you will find yourself making this one over and over again.

Roasted Coffee Beans in Chocolate

Ingredients

100 grams Dark Chocolate
45 Roasted coffee bean

Steps

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler
  2. Fill the mould half way with the melted chocolate
  3. Place the coffee beans
  4. Fill the reset of the mould with chocolate
  5. Freeze the chocolate for 30 minutes
  6. Remove the chocolate from the mould and enjoy 🙂

Notes:

If you think the mould is too small and cannot follow the steps, then fill 3/4 th of the mould and place the coffee beans on the chocolate. Then by using a knife or a toothpick push them into the chocolate.
